Exam season is over-a relief for students! This issue about the entrance exams being fair just came to me wildly and I became a bit amused at this thought. I always thought that entrance exams really tests students' ability to the fullest extent. But some wild thoughts came to my mind and on close examining these issues; I discovered some negative sides about the exam thing as well.
First of all there is only one paper covering all the subjects being conducted over a few hours. A matter of few hours and then it’s all over. Can a student’s ability be judged in just 3 hours? Everyday is not Sunday! The performance of a student largely depends on the conditions around and to a large extent on the mood of the student on that particular day. A student is not expected to deliver his best on a particular day- this brings about the first difference among the competitors.
The next thing is that exams are conducted at different centers and the role-played by the authorities at a particular center matters a lot. I have heard from many students about the wastage of time by the invigilators during the exam hours during the AIEEE examination- giving instructions after the exam started and completing the formalities when the exam is in progress. This snatches away at the least 5 precious minutes from the student for no fault of his- usually termed by the students as “criminal wastage of time”. This greatly affects a students’ performance as 5 minutes means 2 questions- good enough to make a large difference owing to fierce competition.
I think something needs to be done regarding these. Rules should be properly implemented at the exam centers and not left to the whims of the invigilators. Moreover, instead of a single day exam, it should be conducted in week’s time. Though it would mean more work for the students but it will reduce such cases as a “bad” day or ill luck- though that complain will still persist by some students who are not that smart for clearing the exam- but that will be appreciated by those students who are in the race.
I know people hold different opinions and many would not agree to this and I say that this is my personal opinion. But I would surely want to know what people think about my point of view.

ur pont of view is agreeable but then this has been done for a reason i.e.if u can reproduce ur studies in a week then how well u can do it in a couple of hours ok the wastage of time dat takes place due to inefficient invigilators can b ovrcome gradually thing is people hv to b made aware evryting's a part of life ya u got to make people aware n suggest steps to ovrcome these probs ok al d best keep blogging
I dont think that the entrance exams should be largely focussed on how to reproduce the studies in a short span of time!
And one more thing is that how can the invigilators could be made more efficient. And surprisingly, the I have seen the inefficiency is more in the exams like AIEEE and various SLEEE but in IIT-JEE, the invigilators were surprisingly efficient-as regards to the wastage of time as well as other things. It is surprising that how the invigilators change with the exam! If the invigilators can be efficient in one exam, then why not in the other exams as well?
